Boozer & Company, P.C. was founded in 1996 by Eric and Ted Boozer. Derrick Smith was added as a partner in 2018. This full-service commercial real estate appraisal and consulting company operates in Franklin, Tennessee, and services the entire Tennessee market with special emphasis on the Middle Tennessee region. The three principals have over 75 years of combined experience in real estate valuation, and benefit from a stellar reputation and diversified client base. Boozer & Company has grown to include 6 to 8 staff appraisers in addition to the three principals, and is widely recognized as one of the top tier appraisal firms in the Middle Tennessee market. All appraisal and consulting assignments are completed by either Eric Boozer, Ted Boozer, or Derrick Smith (with the help of staff appraisers), and are reviewed extensively prior to delivery.


Eric Boozer, a State Certified General Appraiser, holds the MAI, AI-GRS, and CCIM designations, and has been active in real estate valuations since 1987 after getting his start with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Since that time, Eric has provided valuation and consulting services on a wide variety of property types and qualified as an expert witness in countless depositions, jury of views, and both circuit and federal courts. Eric also provides appraisal review services for multiple lending institutions, and provides eminent domain appraisals for a variety of local utilities and government agencies. Eric, who is also is an active real estate broker, has resided in Williamson County for over 30 years.


Ted Boozer earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Real Estate in 1991, is a State Certified General Appraiser, and also holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. Since 1991, Ted has provided valuation, appraisal review, and consulting services on many property types throughout Tennessee, and has also given expert witness testimony in various depositions, bankruptcy hearings, jury of view proceedings, and circuit court proceedings. Ted is an approved appraiser/review appraiser on the TDOT panel and the Nashville MTA/RTA panel, and is an active member of IRWA. Specializing in residential subdivision and eminent domain appraisals, Ted has appraised the majority of the newly developed residential projects in the Nashville MSA, while also being involved in many of the federal, state and local road projects in the region over the last decade. Ted is also an active affiliate real estate broker who has lived in Franklin for over 25 years.


Derrick Smith is a State Certified General Appraiser and an MAI designated member of the Appraisal Institute. He has provided appraisal, appraisal review and consulting services on a variety of property types and has testified in depositions, circuit and federal court proceedings. Derrick has been an active member within the Appraisal Institute and had the privilege of representing local appraiser interests in national forums. A long-time resident of Williamson County, Derrick currently lives in Franklin with his wife and children.
